It seems like Nuclear Blast re-issued their entire back catalog through their own label and they used mixes and remasters from various years.

There is some information about that here. I hope my question makes sense and someone will be mad enough to answer it. I'm asking because if I like a song, I would like to add the most recent version to my playlist. So this was in 2012, thus my second question is: are the 2012 versions different from the 2007 verions *and* 2017 versions or did they reuse some of the old ones? So for example if a song from one of the first two albums was on this compilation, then that would mean that 3 different versions exist, right? A 2007, 2012 and a 2017 remaster. The compilation album "Memories of a Time to Come only complicates this because afaik most of the songs (apart from the re-recordings) are remastered. My first question is: Are the 2017 remasters of the first two albums different than the 2007 or is it the same and just a different record label? I don't know much about music production but how do you remaster a live album?) Anyway, that's besides the point. I hope this is correct so far, because the fact that everything on Spotify up to A Night at the Opera is listed under 2017, even though it says 2007 remaster in the title only adds to the confusion (even a live album which is like, what. From what I've seen there are 3 albums that were remastered in 2017: Battallions of Fear, Follow the Blind and A Night at the Opera and everything before A Night at the Opera also has a 2007 remaster (including Battallions of Fear and Follow the Blind, although only the 2017 versions are on Spotify). A few weeks ago I made a post asking for Blind Guardian song recommendations and since then I've decided to listen to their complete discography but I'm a bit lost among these remasters, remixes and re-recordings.
